Bastard Art.

This year I completed a documentary called Bastard Art. Below are the details.

From the 1970s UK punk scene to the present gothic rock resurgence, Andi Sex Gang has remained both an enigmatic and often underrated artist who has persevered through events that would make most people give up or give in. Whether it was being a squatter in London, a bombing suspect in Italy, or spending time in jail in America, these non-musical life events have pushed Andi Sex Gang to forge a unique musical path filled with many highs and lows, as both a solo artist and with his band Sex Gang Children.

Between 1982 and 1985 Andi and Sex Gang Children landed in the UK indie charts with 8 singles and 5 albums hitting the top 30. The album Song And Legend went to #1. It should have been the beginning of a brilliant career, What followed were bad business deals and even worse luck, slowing down an influential artist who has sadly been ignored by mainstream culture.

Bastard Art tells Sex Gang's story through live performance and video clips, a wealth of archive photos and articles, and interviews with current and former bandmates, along with fellow musicians, artists and friends.
